About Me
Hello! Im Sasha and I'm a freelance Sculptor and Special Effects artist in London. I love designing and making character and sets for films. It's awesome that my job allows me to constantly learn about new processes and meet new people all the time. I'm an outgoing, often blunt person, who enjoys a laugh and taking myselfself out of my comfort zone. I love activities and new experiences, and am generally more of a hiker/explorer than a beach dweller when I'm abroad.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After arguably working a little too hard in London for the past few years, I'm finally giving myself a well deserved break! I'd love the idea of meeting and staying with local people when I travel so that I can get to know the places I'm travelling in from a local perspective... and hopefully make some friends in the process!

Music, Movies, and Books
I particulary love films/series' which present alternate realities or transport me some sort of fantasy world: Under the Skin, Sexy Beast, Pans Labyrinth, What We Do in the Shadows, Bojack Horseman. I'm recently really enjoying The O.A!
I have a deep appriciation for animation (particularly stop motion!): Coraline, Mary & Max, The Triplettes of Bellville, Over the Garden Wall
I am into a broad range of music, but my favourite artists include: Radiohead, Nirvana, Bob Dylan, Nina Simone, Blur, Amy Winehouse and Refused
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Doing a course in neon glass bending and glass blowing in the Scottish Highlands was quite amazing! During the course, we often took our neon sculptures we'd made out into the natural enviroment and photographed them. Something about holding a neon bow and arrow against the backdrop of waves crashing against the cliffs made me feel like some sort of goddess!
Teach, Learn, Share
I could possibly help out with "making things" or suggest ways that people could execute creative/craft projects. I'm also quite good at basic DIY :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Conversations, stories, time, food and beers maybe?! I hope to make some longer lasting friendships and one day return the favour of hosting them in London.
