About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find happiness in the smallest moments
ABOUT ME
I am very open-minded and easily amused (or so I've been told). The thing I value most in people is honesty.
Random fun facts about me:
1) I love raspberries. Like, I really, really love raspberries. If I am upset, they can make me feel better immediately.
2) I love gelato
3) I love cemeteries. I think they're beautiful and peaceful and I am absolutely fascinated by the idea of all the lives that have been lived and lie buried there.
Anyways, I am also currently a student and majoring in geoscience with a minor in environmental studies. I enjoy being outside and discovering new places, having micro adventures whenever possible, and learning about how to grow my own food. I have spent the past couple of summers involved with agriculture, both WWOOFing and at my college, and have a growing interest in permaculture and sustainable building, especially cob structures.
PHILOSOPHY
You are only responsible for your own actions.
Happiness is a choice.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I am a full time student, but I try to travel in all of my free moments, so I use couch surfing whenever possible. Eventually, when I have my own place, I would love to start hosting people as well.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have couch surfed with some great people during my trip to western Europe.
Interests
I love trying new things and am always looking for a new sport to try. So far I've done ice skating, gymnastics, soccer, cross country, water skiing, wind surfing, lacrosse, sailing, kayaking, rock climbing, and snow skiing. Being outdoors is a vital part of my life, and I love camping and traveling whenever the opportunity arises. When I'm not outside I am probably reading, which has also been an important part of my life. I'll read anything, but I prefer fiction because I like reading to get lost in new worlds.
I also like baking and eating healthy (although you'd think the two don't really go together) But usually when I bake I make things for friends birthdays because I find satisfaction in making them happy and knowing them well enough to know what makes them happy. I like vegan food and am currently vegetarian, for both health and ethical reasons, but I am willing to try everything on my travels because I think food is a big part of the culture, and I wouldn't want to miss out.
I like making things, mostly jewelery, and I've recently done some blacksmithing, which was absolutely incredible. I've learned how to make earring cuffs, which I love, but it all began when I started making pop tab bracelets. I also like watercolor painting, but I rarely have the time to do that any more.
Living in Miami has also given me the opportunity to attend some pretty incredible summer programs, but the best ones were the marine biology ones. I love the ocean and everything in it, and I would like to get my scuba diving license one day. I am even more fascinated by marine mammals, my favorite animals are dolphins, because of their curious human-like nature and the fact that they basically have their own language.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swimming with manatees in a canal and visiting Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world:)
Teach, Learn, Share
My life has been full of different things but the one thing I've never had is musical talent. I've been dying to learn how to play the guitar for a while. Apart from that, people that I enjoy learning from are ones who are happy with their place in the world and have found what they like doing and do it regardless of what anyone says.
I have always spoken two languages, but I am very willing to learn new ones, and I think languages are pretty interesting. Including sign language, which I took a few classes of.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can bake some pretty great things:) Kahlua flan, key lime pie (won second place at a pie contest), and panqueques con dulce de leche are my favorites. I like gardening and making jewelry, and I love doing acro yoga with anyone!
