I am an assistant professor in the social sciences at the University of Amsterdam. I work mainly on the politics of international conflict and travel a lot for research.

When I travel somewhere, I like getting to know people who live there. It's so nice to make friends and understand a place from their perspective.

Interests

My professional interests aside, I like reading, seeing theatre, movies and art. I also enjoy just 'hanging out': talking to people about their lives while enjoying coffee, tea or cocktails.
