CURRENT MISSION
Discovering the world
ABOUT ME
I am a 21 year old law student. I grew up in Belgium, lovely country but after 20 years there I am very eager to discover the rest of the world! I just finished a year of erasmus in Helsinki which was great. Erasmus gives so much: travelling, language, adventure and the best of all, international friends. I couldn't get enough so now I'm in Santiago de Chile for three months to do an internship. First time living in a really big city. Excited and curious about what Santiago has to offer!
PHILOSOPHY
Let's explore the world to see, learn and enjoy. I'm too young and unexperienced to have a deeprooted philosophy yet. I do think it's important to be openminded and I like discussing and shaping my opinions.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't been able yet to host anyone myself, but as soon as I have place to do that I certainly will. Until now I travel around and try to surf on a couch here and there. I enjoy to get to know new people and have a completely different impression of a city that way.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
After returning to Belgium for christmas, I hitch-hiked all the way back to Finland through Europe with my sister-from-another-mother Eva. On that trip we both couchsurfed for the first time in Warsaw and then again in Riga. I simply fell in love with crashing couches. We started out with a 'Who can stay the longest outside on the snowy balcony with bare feet?'-contest with a fellow couchsurfer in Warsaw to end up in a lovely crazy student/artist/cat appartment in Riga.
Interests
I love reading, watching movies, going to indie/rock concerts or to cosy jazz performances (I adore the saxophone and play it a bit myself). I like going to bars, restaurants and finding the really nice unknown places. I'm always on the search for new things and places to go. A glass of good red wine can make me very happy. I'm very interested in Arabic language and culture, next year I want to learn how to write it. But of course my biggest passion of all is traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I swam in the Arctic Ocean in Norway by -5 degrees water and a little -25 degree snowstorm. Yes, I did wonder why the hell I was doing that but it was awesome.
