About Me

I'm currently on holiday driving through Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic with my partner.
I'm a bit a history enthusiast, so is he. If you do like the big dramatics like 'kings, queens, wars and court intrigue' to the smaller stuff like 'the forming of cities and the lives of peasants a thousand years ago', you might find us interesting. However, we do have other interests: books, travelling and dancing.
We dance Lindy Hop, which is a pure delight to do. Great music, fun moves and fabulous fashion!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love learning about other people and their cultures. The best way to do that, in my opinion, is to travel and talk to those people different to you.
I could should you my world and I'd love for you to show me yours. It sounds corny, but I like corny.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

This is like asking a mom for her favourite child.
O well, we can talk about more books, movies and music when we meet.
Here is a short list:
The Unbearable Lightness of Being - Milan Kundera
Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follet
Anything Austen
Hhhh - Laurent Binet
1000 years of annoying the French - Stephen Clarke
Escape from Camp 14: One Man's Remarkable Odyssey from North Korea to Freedom in the West - Blaine Harden

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the highlights of my life was living in Berlin and meeting wonderful people and soaking up its' history for six months.

Eating lamb stew from a pot that the waiter had to cut open with a hammer, after walking for hours in the snowy hills of Cappadocia, Turkey.
Great memory. The warm fire, glorious food, beautiful walk and interesting conversation.

Teach, Learn, Share

So yeah.. Teaching, learning, sharing. This is basicly my job and mission in life.
