About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Practice deep uncertainty.

ABOUT ME

I've never been real ecstatic at life's little opportunities to squeeze myself into wordboxes.

How about: traveled a fair bit, read a lot, loved deeply, thought hard often, sought some kind of greater direction, won a few internal battles and lost a few, opened to other people.

As far as being on your couch goes: just another face for a couple days, some friendly conversation and maybe a few unusual thoughts. A moment in time, a cup of coffee balanced on a windowsill.

PHILOSOPHY

At the risk of seeming contrary, I don't have a personal philosophy that will fit in a box like this. I'm not saying one shouldn't, but I don't. Read me once I'm dead and gone?

Music, Movies, and Books

Recent playlist: Aimee Mann, The Handsome Family, Neko Case, 4 Non Blondes, Propagandhi, Mika, Air, Glen Campbell, The Walkabouts, Boombox ATX, Metalachi.

Books I'm reading carefully right now: Carl Schmitt's Constitutional Theory, Rosa Luxemburg's The Accumulation of Capital, Alain Badiou's The Theory of the Subject, Nadia Urbinati's Representative Democracy, and Paulina Ochoa Espejo's The Time of Popular Sovereignty.

Did you know: Reality Bites came out in France as Génération 90?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just the one?

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure how to do this section without making it look, in kind of an ugly way, like a CV. I've done a variety of different things surrounding language and writing and hiking, and I might be able to help with things along those lines.
