About Me

CURRENT MISSION

seeking community with others

ABOUT ME

I am on a pilgrimage in search of some place I can live in loving community and to help reconnect human beings to Nature and each other.Five years ago I attended an Earth-medicine apprenticeship in Silver City, NM and have lived here since. I love being in wilderness, especially mountains. I like to Jam with folks either on a hand-drum or guitar. I am informed by Sufi, Buddhist, and Goetheian wisdom, but make no claims to live perfectly. The past few years I have been working on farms and helping friends homestead. I also volunteered for a few months as a cook for some natural building workshops. Two dreams of mine are: divorcing myself from dependency on a violent global economic system and laying the foundation for the new tribal confederation of peace to emerge. What else you wanna know? I'll add it here. I want to encourage every person to trust their intuition and to move freely from that loving place.

PHILOSOPHY

hmmmm I am guided by many forms of spiritual wisdom. I'm very much the biophile. Intuition, compassion, trust, and resting in the uncertainty are fairly central. I live my life because I am not moved to end it... it is a constant unfolding mystery becoming more multi-dimensional all the time. I try to remain heart-centered and place more trust in my thoughts when they are calm and coherent. I think this could be a wonderful conversation between individuals but it is difficult to sum-up in a text to an audience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Newly reconnecting to CS.When living in Tallahassee FL (11 years) I often welcomed travelers into my home and fed folks in need out of it... unfortunately I did not know of the CS2 at the time. I will definitely stay connected when I am settled with a couch of my own

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Newbie here... Until January 2011 I had not looked at this site since a brief browse in July 2007. That didn't stop me from travelling, though. I spent about 4 months on the road in '07on and have been grateful for the friends and strangers that have offered me rides and places to stay. When I was living in Tallahassee, FL I would offer travelers floor-space or the backyard for camping (we had no couch). Most of the travelers who visited my home in Tallahassee were great company... often sharing scavenged food and helping in the garden... one woman offered to trade some tattoo work! Though there were a couple (2) exceptions to this- I found that simply reminding angry or aggressive individuals that they were welcome to leave any situation that made them uncomfortable was a suitable prompt.

Interests

Things I'm on the perifery of and would like to deepen my practice in: Sustainable living, Deep Ecology, Spiritual Permaculture, Dreams, Qi kung and Energy healing, spiritual herbalism. Also would enjoy more: Sleeping under the stars, playing music with others, Dance parties, contra dancing, yoga, Taichichuan, Vipassana Meditation. Intuitive living, Anthroposophy and Theosophy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well. I've had a few mystical experiences- channeling information, and healing energy. Had an ecstatic experience with a spiritually sensitive friend...Stood near the waterline at Silver Bay letting the wind blow across my ears and fill them with sound until the trees in front of me shone with purple light (synaesthesia??) have devloped a few theories about this... Participated in mass demonstrations regarding voting rights and policies of the world bank/ imf /wto watched police arrest speakers for "inciting a riot" (I still refuse to abide by some of my friends' prejudice against cops) and watched others beat innocent demonstrators and "profiled" individuals... in DC saw cops raid a demonstrator convergence center and steal all the educational materials- placing them at the bottom of a large dumpster to be covered by debris from a nearby demolition site.

Teach, Learn, Share

To share: gardening, vegetarian cooking, thoughts on deep ecology. TO learn: the energy meridians as used by the practitioners of accupuncture or the marma points in ayurveda.
