About Me
UPDATE Nov 2016
For a short time only I am living back home.... in Liverpool, in a proper house with proper walls and proper couches and beds so ignore all the stuff about the boat. But I'm not deleting it cos we'll be going back in the Spring.
But don't ignore the stuff about the dogs. They've lost their taste for passports but they're still noisy.
We are in Aigburth which is a 10 minute ride on the train from the city... or a pleasant half hour cycling along the promenade of the River Mersey.
From either the airport or town take the 82 bus and alight in Aigburth at Mersey Road, near Et Alia restaurant. A day ticket for bus is about £4.

CURRENT MISSION
Cruising the world on a sailing yacht! Hence the following location may well not be current, but may be our next port of call where we can take surfers onboard. Be sure to read our profile - we're a little different!
ABOUT ME
May 2014: My husband and I are on a world circumnavigation, sailing the wrong way round, on a 40 foot monohull sailing yacht... We have a Kalik 40' which we rebuilt ourselves and which is currently on the hard in Phuket getting a new teak deck, while we are couchsurfing with others.
Come mid Sept, the boat will hopefully be habitable again, and we will be island hopping around here.
Couchsurfers who stay onboard with us must be flexible, as our travels are weather dependent.
We used to run a 5* Dive Centre together for ten years, so can probably offer you a SCUBA experience, if the sailing hasn't totally worn you out!
We're both very keen on animals (they don't talk back so much as people!) and I used to put a lot of time and effort into volunteering at a local animal shelter. BTW, we have two big, black, noisy dogs onboard, so liking dogs is a must.
PHILOSOPHY
What goes around comes around... Karma seems to have its way!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We hosted quite a bit when we had a nice big house in Kuwait, but we are now cruising sailors, and that means we move around!
Bear in mind the above location was correct when I wrote it, but might not be correct now!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Previously to CS I had simply crossed my fingers and hoped for the best when travelling... Amsterdam, Cork, Brn, Birmingham, Krakow and Rannoch are all places where kind strangers have kindly lent me a couch or a caravan...
Our genuine Couchsurfing experiences have included Bechaa Valley, Siem Reap, Copenhagen and Amsterdam.
We host more than we surf, and our house guests have been British, Australian, French, Polish, Canadian, Indian, Korean and German... sometimes all the beds have been full, and surfers have had to sleep on the couches and mattresses on the floor!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
* Our barefoot Hindu wedding in India was awesome :)
* The 5ft bull shark that swam between me and the boat (which was 12ft away), chasing his dinner, was awesome!
* I love the sunset on the Mersey, when the entire sky lights up with golden fire.
* Sailing 20nm from an island to shore on a Hobie Cat (think Jaws) in a thunderstorm, trapezing the entire way... awesome!
* Walking the West Highland Way in Scotland - awesome!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am trained to teach many people many things (diving, sailing, yoga, English, plus any subject to kids...); but still I am busy learning what I should be teaching and how to do it better!
