About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learn some cool tunes on the Banjo, read more and move myself to London
ABOUT ME
This bit's harder than it sounds isn't it? I suppose people would say I'm a sociable and talkative (or possibly just a loud-mouth), passionate about what I believe in with a decent sense of humour.
PHILOSOPHY
If you're not angry about the world, you're not paying attention.
It is our job - your's and mine, personally - to get rid of prejudice, discrimination and exploitation in this world.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My girlfriend has hosted a few people and we've surfed a couch or two together and it's always been a pretty cool experience and a good way to meet people - so now it' time for me to have my own profile! Best experience so far has been meeting a CS host at a protest in Madrid who then took us to a party with his friends, showed us some of best bars in his town (the type the tourists never find!) and shared some excellent Spanish punk with us!
Interests
My interests are many and varied, but here's a few of 'em; I love veggie cooking and spend a lot (and I mean a lot) of time in my kitchen making tasty stuff.
I'm also into my music - I play bass, banjo and harmonica and have a cd collection that mixes blues, 80s hardcore, ska, punk rock, rockabilly and a little soul music which I'm always happy to share and add more interesting stuff to!
I believe that a person without books is a person without soul! My bookshelf is always overflowing with cook books, politics books, history books, weird old novels, graphic novels (I should mention I'm a bit of a comic book lover) and anything else I can grab from my favourite independent/second hand/radical bookshops!
Like anyone interesting, I'm always interested in sharing and learning new stuff, so lets share recipes, swap cds from our local punk bands, trade books and sit up all night telling stories over some of my home made beer - how does that sound to you?

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies
As much as I like good films, its the really bad ones that I love! But here' a few titles (some good some bad, you decide which): Brazil (someone else out there must have seen this!), Evil Dead II, Akira, Rambo, Wayne's World, Anchorman, Toxic Avenger
Music
Punk, Hardcore, Riot Grrl, Ska, Blues, a bit of Dub & Reggae, some celtic folk (I'm half Irish) and anything else that I fancy at the time. But nothing you're going to hear on the charts... While I'm on the topic, don't you hate it when people say 'I like all music really'? Because you know it's not true, if you play them some Japanese thrash punk they're not going to love it! Anyway...
Books
1984 & Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell, Catch 22 by Joseph Hellier, Anarchy by Errico Malatesta, Monkey by Wu Chen En, Watchmen & V for Vendetta (they really screwed up the film, didn't they?) by Alan Moore and too many others to list...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Waking up on the roof and watching the sun rise on christmas day in India with my friends around me,
Getting lunch in the biggest, most beautiful squatted social centre I have ever seen in Barcelona,
Taking to the streets of London with hundreds of thousands of others and feeling like we really were taking back the streets, if only for a few hours...
Watching the Tokyo Rockabilly club strut their stuff in Yoyogi Park on a Sunday. Just the hair alone would make anyone awestruck!
Teach, Learn, Share
I could give you a couple of (beginners!) lessons on banjo or bass, or how to do stencil printing for t-shirts! Or vegetarian/vegan cooking!
I always like to share knowledge and stories, especially about travelling, history, politics and anarchism.
I'd love to lean how to cook some of your favourite recipes!
