My husband and I have two sons, currently one and two years old, and six ducks. We live in the beautiful village of Langley. We have an active and engaged routine around daycare, farmers markets, my husband's job, and my board work. We love all the natural beauty that surrounds us and what being a short walk from town center, the marina, and a short ride to the local parks, trails and beaches means for our quality of life.

I am an active participant in local government and organizations as I believe in public service and shaping our community to serve and support each other.

Our moms, both in their eighties, live in their own homes less than a mile away, so we spend time with them, and friends and family throughout the week.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm always down for an adventure, a good meal and a bottle of wine or local beer. My husband turned me on to couch surfing before we met in person +he'd just returned from abroad as I was about to leave when we met online. I stayed one night at a couch surfing host's place in Portugal and it was absolutely magic, definitely a highlight of my two-month journey. After that, I didn't have a reason to use it, until I started to think about my mom not having a house guest when her actor leaves at the beginning of September. I'm hoping to have guests stay with her to keep her engaged and going - I take care of her needs, and want her to have a high quality of life, and I don't always have as much time to give her as I'd like.

Interests

I've been kiting since 2008, and I love it. I am currently the female champion of the Big Air competition in Puget Sound. I don't always travel with my gear, but I would jump at any opportunity to get out there and play. And to update that from six years ago, I don't kite as much as I used to before kids.

I'm an experienced guest. I lived with three host families in Belgium when I was 18. I grew up in a bed and breakfast so I know what it takes to welcome guests professionally. I'm conscientious and can pitch in with housekeeping.
