CURRENT MISSION To try new things and explore the world in everyday life! ABOUT ME I am currently living in Mountain View. I am a nurse at a local hospital here and I love living on the Big Island (Hawaii). It had been my dream to return here after spending far too long surviving the freezing winters of North Idaho. So, here I am:)! I am excited to meet new people from around the globe and become active within the local Big Island CS community. I also have pets two large pups and two cats, so fur babies to love on while on travels.
A personal request for my surfers when making a request to stay please no requests for more than 4 months out, please feel free to write and ask about travel to the island but I just don’t know my own schedule well enough in four months to approve requests to stay. If you could know more approximate travel dates some folks are asking to stay a month at a time stating I will be here around this time can I stay a week with you in this block of time? When this happens my hosting calendar gets blocked for the original time requested and then other surfers think I am unavailable and gets genuinely difficult keeping track of who is coming and going. Last thing if you have to change dates no big deal just resubmit your request with the other dates again this just to keep my calendar up to date!
Suggestions for Surfers if you can get a rental car, it lets you see majority of the island comfortably no matter the weather. Costco members seem to get the best deals Aiona car sales and Pono’s used car do local rentals and are affordable. If you can’t get a car we do have a bus system, now this isn’t the reliable big city bus you may be used to but it does get you around here is the website http://www.heleonbus.org/. Also a lot of surfers hitch hike so far I haven’t heard of anyone having troubles with that method of travel. For people unfamiliar with Hawaii there are four major islands so double check where you are flying into, I have had people want to stay but are going to a different island! The airport closest to me is Hilo (ITO) which is what recommend if not renting a car and Kona airport which is on the other side of the island.
Weather, it’s tropical! Lots of humidity and I live on the rainy side in a rain forest it’s more common than not for it to rain every week if not daily. It’s warm rain however and, bonus, weather apps are fairly accurate my zip code is 96771.
Besides beaches Hawaii Island offers the Volcano National Park about a 30 min drive from my home and Mauna Kea observatory star gazing tours!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have done yet is sky diving, it honestly is the best view on/of the earth I have seen. When I graduated from Nursing school I couldn't have been prouder of my hard work.
