About Me

My name is Sayre and I'm a 21 year old Canadian student currently studying in France and travelling Europe. I am doing a Bachelor's of Arts in French before moving on to studying International Affairs hopefully by September 2017. I have moved around and travelled a lot in my short lifetime and really enjoy being able to experience the world while I'm still young.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm mostly on Couchsurfing to meet new people from the places I visit. While having a place to stay is a bonus, I would much rather meet a new friend and experience the local way of life. I am not the type of traveller who does all of the touristy things. I much rather enjoy integrating myself into the culture during my stay and getting the most out of each second I spend there.

Interests

My biggest interests are travelling, music and skiing. All of these have defined my life so far and will continue to into the future. Besides that, I also enjoy hiking, camping, writing, reading, spending time with my friends and family, and going for long and aimless drives. I am also very into politics, especially European and Canadian politics and politics surrounding immigration. So it this interests you, we'll get along just fine!

Music, Movies, and Books

I appreciate any and all types of music. I mostly listen to indie rock, and electro, but I listen to any genre imaginable depending on my mood. So if you know any cool music, let me know :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This Christmas, I spend 3 days living in an 18th Century stone sheep herder's cottage in the mountains of Alsace. I had to hike up a mountain to get to it, it had no electricity, the only water it had came from a spring just outside the front door, and the entire place was perched on the edge of a hill overlooking the mountains and a lake. It was by far one of the coolest things I've done in a very long time!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some French if you want. And if you're interested in Canada, I am literally a cesspool of information on anything and everything that is my country!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States
