ABOUT ME

Grew up in a small town called Rayleigh, Essex. Lived around here until i left for University at Portsmouth, which was always good times! Now back living in sunny Essex however, i'm now living in Colchester but mainly hang around Rayleigh when i can!

PHILOSOPHY

I like to live every day to the last! I hate the feeling of "i'll do it tomorrow", as there's always a chance i might be missing out on something!

I enjoy life as much as possible and like to keep to the philosophy of the famous willy wonka and say "if you want to view paradise, simply look around and see it".

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Was introduced via a friend, and really took to the CS idea! Always been a great believer in that the best way to visit a place, is rather than read the tour guides, is to get someone to show you around! So hopefully from other people being so nice to me in the past! I can share any experience or knowledge i have of places, to others!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When i was staying at Summer camp in the USA in 2008, my flight to Dallas was actually cancelled due to hurricane gustav! This meant having to call in some favors from people i had met at camp and was fortunate enough that someone from camp would put me up until i sorted my self out! I actually became really good friends with his room mate and he managed to show myself and my fellow soccer coach from camp around New York! Still one of the best experiences i've had and went to places that are not always on the map! From this experience, i hope that i can be as kind to others as they were to me!

Interests

very keen sports fan but especially football, i have a good knowledge of good and bad, films and TV which can get quite embarrassing!

But i take an interest in most common things!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been to the Chichen Itza in Mexico, which was pretty impressive!

Done the great wall, Empire state building, tower of London, climbed the Rocky Steps in Philly, Climbed Sydney Harbour bridge, dived in the barrier reef!

Still would like to see New Zealand, go to Paris, and see the pyramids!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a terrific knowledge, of South Essex, although the reputation is bad, i'm sure there are places for everyone.

Portsmouth i'm just as confident about! you don't spend 4 year at uni there and not know how to enjoy the place!

Have a average knowledge of the New York area, but by no means an expert.

Hopefully by the time i finish my time in Beijing, i should be an expert on the sanlitun area!
