About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Mission: To be happy and celebrate each day I have...

About me: I am currently living back in Santa Barbara, CA after living and working in Sicily for Expo Sicily and Sicily Traveling in 2014.

I graduated from UCSB with a BA in Sociology. Law school would have been the next goal in life to practice family law, however El Viajero, an adventure travel book, offered me a job instead.

My true passion in life, which is working with foster kids and orphans worldwide. Until I have the resources and experience to turn my vision into a reality, I have an adequate number of jobs keeping me occupied. I just launched my own travel business called Travel with Anaiya and it's tied into my orphan dream which make me very happy.

Volunteerism: CRY India, which helps motivate the children in the slums of India to seek ‘resolution through individual and collective action’, enabling them to realize their full potential. As part of CRY, I belly dance for fundraisers targeted at ending hunger for the children living in the slums of India. Someday, I hope to become a children’s advocate on an international level and start my own non-profit.

Until my dream is fulfilled, you will find me traveling the globe writing about indigenous tribes and their culture for El Viajero.

I will also continue my passions that make me feel free, which are hang gliding, attending car shows, racing motorcycles, and belly dancing with all of my beautiful and talented sisters who are an honor to my soul.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy the simple things in life. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest and things are meant to be shared. It is so much more rewarding to live that way. Be nice to people you do not have to be nice to for it can go a long way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am a traveler at heart. I host people at my house in Santa Barbara, couch surf at others, and have created amazing friendships abroad.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Awesome, amazing, and wonderful.

Interests

Some of my interests include: reading, writing, traveling, belly dancing, racing motorcycles, admiring cars, hang gliding, riding waves, hiking, and sailing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all music including reggae, blues, jazz, rock, ska, punk, and classical. I enjoy movies like The Fifth Element, A Bronx Tale, and Babel. Some books that have inspired my passions for change are No Logo by Naomi Klein, and 100 years of Solitude, and I love the books The Alchemist and Shantaram.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got invited to be a part of the Kuna tribe family in Panama and have them save me from Dengue fever with their medicine. If I had the chance to do it all over again, I would; I learned so much.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to learn as much as I could while on this earth. Time is meant for love, risk, and adventure. I have learned that by giving love to others, not only am I treating myself, but also changing the world in which we live by taking on the role of love. By loving and being loved, we become love.
I also can share my cooking knowledge and hope to learn more from others as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my passion for life, spiritual exercises, cooking recipes, dance techniques, and good travel recommendations.
