About Me

Student on gap year, visiting as many places as I can before heading back to college in Los Angeles. Always up for an adventure or a party, looking for people to show me the best spots in their areas.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've travelled a fair amount, but I always try to get the local experience to get a real feel of a place. The Couchsurfing community is great for that, especially when I cannot commit to a long stay and would like to connect with some friendly people excited to show me their city. I love finding everything a city has to offer, and I know that finding people to show off their communities I'm always ready to listen and experience.

Interests

Anything outdoors — hiking, fishing, swimming and running. I'm interested in politics and government, so I follow global and local issues and love discussing anything that comes up.

Music, Movies, and Books

Bruce Springsteen is always the boss, but lately I've turned more alternative–The Strokes, The Killers and Oasis will always have a place in my musical preference along with the underground hip-hop scene, especially in my home town of Minneapolis.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Making it out of high school seemed like a pretty big accomplishment at the time

Teach, Learn, Share

I spent my past year studying politics in the Middle East, but teaching Middle Eastern policy is mostly an autopsy finding who screwed up and when. For the most part, I love discussing what shapes a place and the people there, whether it's religion, politics or art.

Other than that, I always carry my harmonica with me and would gladly join any jam session to be had.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't masquerade as a wise, learned traveller but I do have some great experiences to share from past encounters. As a couchsurfer, my goal is to add not only to my own knowledge and experience in new places, but learn with those fellow adventurers willing to go out on a limb for a new opportunity.
