ABOUT ME

describe myself? i'm a student and massive nerd who likes comics, craft beer, quentin tarantino, anything vintage, comfort food, science, eclectic music and interesting chats that last far into the early hours.

i'm very easy going, will always try new things, a little obsessed with saving the planet, rarely turn down a dare and i may talk a little too much. there'll be no awkward silences around me!

I like to host and to surf in equal measure =)

However, my reply rate is quite low as I don't reply to requests where I feel you haven't read ANY of my profile, or if you ask me for 'a place to crash' etc. This is an experience and culture exchange, not a free hostel site =P

the only bad thing about couchsurfing is sometimes you make such good friends that you know you can't see as much as you would like. (but more excuse to travel!)

i want to know everything about everything. so i'm interested in a lot of things =) i love learning about everything from quantum physics to lady gaga dance routines.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

i like quentin tarantino films (directed or scipted) and my favourite films are true romance and natural born killers. i also like films with a very dark sense of humour and anything with zombies.

tv wise, joss whedon is god. buffy and firefly all the way! currently obsessed with humans. doctor who and sherlock are firm favourites. love most things hbo come out with.

i'll listen to anything and everything. my main loves are rock, metal, blues and psychobilly. my favourite bands are nine inch nails, faith no more, every time i die, brody dalle, him and type o negative.

i don't really have a favourite genre in books. i love historical novels and fantasy, and my favourite authours are probably phillip pullman and roahld dahl. i love classics and 19th century poetry. i'm a little obsessed with aphra behn. i spend most of my time nowadays reading psychology and science books. i also love reading comics; x-men and hellboy are my favourites.

walking on a frozen lake in the middle of the alps, and hearing the cracks echo around the mountains. scary, but beautiful.
negotiating in terrible russian and english to visit some bubbling mud volcanoes in a desert in azerbaijan
surviving the night train between baku and tbilisi with russian tea
joining gay pride in budapest, complete with a police escort

i can teach you how to knit, how to take a good photo, tips on baking a cake and how to make a mean margarita. and a bit about how the brain works, if you're interested.
i also know cardiff pretty well now, and love showing people round, whether it's great cafes, bars, museums or quirks.
