À propos de moi

Gay woman, she/her, into exploring new areas of London and showing guests to the city around! ☺️🏳️‍🌈. Due to the sleeping situation (shared bed or roll mat on the floor), I’ll only host women I’m afraid - priority to LGBTQ+ women but not as a hookup app, just because I love making Queer friends round the world! Ofc happy to host straight women too, but just priority to Queer 😌.

I’m learning Arabic so would love to host any Arabic speakers! On a typical weekday evening I go bouldering so bonus points if you enjoy that too or would like to try it!

I would describe myself as a thoughtful, fast-talking, slightly crazy adventurer. In the summer of 2018, I drove from London to Mongolia and back (17,000 miles) through Europe and the Silk Road/ Central Asia before returning through Russia. Shortly after returning home, I contacted the Northern California Land Rover Club and ended up going out there to go rock-crawling in Tahoe National Forest :).

While studying, I spent the summers of 2013 + 2014 visiting every country in South-East Asia. Summer 2015 I visited South America for 2 months and the USA for a month. In the summer of 2016, I travelled the USA and Canada for over 2 months too. 2017 I spent a month in the USA, Barbados and Denmark then spent the summer in Israel, Palestine and Jordan. 2018 I went all around the world!

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is by far my favourite way to see a place and truly get to know it. I love hanging out with my hosts and getting to know them/ their friends/ their fav hangouts. I like it because it feels like I've got family all over the world - it makes me less homesick as I know that somebody is spending their day wondering what I've got up to, what time I'll be home, or taking me on their adventures with them.

I've had some amazing couchsurfing hosts:
- Even got a weeks work experience at a law firm in New York City after staying on a lawyers couch for one night in Tallahassee Florida!
- Taken cliff-jumping several times, to different waterfalls, for the best pizza ever in New Haven, and been on a motorbike tour of San Antonio followed by a Jazz festival etc.
- Host in Burlington drove me over 6 hours in one day to go tubing in the White Mountains as there was no public transport. We got along so well, 3 years later I ended up staying with her again in NOLA for Mardi Gras in 2019.
- One in SF worked for Couchsurfing and I went to Couch Crash that weekend, went to a fancy gala at the Jewish Art Museum, and hung out at Couchsurfing HQ. Got along so well I went back and stayed again later that year.

Centres d'intérêt

My main interests lie in history, politics and law (particularly of the USA). However, I also love drinking, photography, dancing, playing board games, cross-stitching, snowboarding, adrenaline filled sports, ice hockey, Land Rovers etc. I just love being with other people and being out and about.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

I love so many different types of music: Rock, Screamo, Pop, Country, Rap etc! I love Bring me the Horizon, Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, 50 Cent, Eminem etc. My fourteen year old self won't allow me to let go of my passion for bands like Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Never Shout Never, Cute Is What We Aim For, Plain White T's etc.

Movies? Again, so many. I like comedy, chick flicks, actions, horrors etc. A few of my favourites: Dark Knight, The Butterfly Effect, Wild Child, Now You See Me, John Tucker Must Die, Mean Girls, Bridge to Terrabitha, Hide and Seek, The Ugly Truth, Limitless, Pitch Perfect, Country Strong, Law Abiding Citizen, Taken, The House I Live In etc.

Books: I love a good murder mystery but also enjoy romance and legal thrillers. Currently John Grisham is my favourite author. Love the book 'we were young', and also love author Mayra Hornbacher. Despite being a history student, I weirdly hate reading history books... Don't ask how I pass my degree! All I can say is thank GOD for Wikipedia.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

- Drove from London to Mongolia and back in a ‘01 Freelander Land Rover.
- Rode a bull and lassoed cows in Masbate, the Philippines whilst staying with this 50-year old man I met on a random boat journey who offered to host me.
- Spontaneously went on a road trip around Californias National Parks with 6 French guys I met in a hostel in Vegas.
- Hired an RV by myself and toured Northern California.
- Went to Couchcrash in SF and hung out at the Couchsurfing HQ! :)

Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes

Crafting things like cross-stitch and scrapbooking - I love craftivism (google it)! I can also share historical knowledge and travel stories from around the world and er... love and kindness. Oh and information on how to live a freelance lifestyle.

I am afraid I will not be cooking for you as I am totally hopeless in the kitchen... unless chicken nuggets and potato waffles are your favourites (because they are mine!!)
