Hello Couchsurfers, I'm Sophie!

I currently live in San Francisco and work at the San Francisco Botanical Garden. I am passionate about plants, the outdoors, reading, and cooking. I will be travelling to Italy (Rome, Florence, Venice) with my partner during October and would love to stay with locals who could show us around! We always appreciate time outside of big cities as well, so we'd love to find someone who can show us the countryside.

In return, I can offer a tour of the San Francisco Botanical Garden, other SF neighborhoods, and amazing food recommendations!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started hosting couch surfers while I lived in Burlington, Vermont. I did not have my own account then so many of those reviews are not linked to this profile :(. I can no longer host couch surfers in San Francisco, but would love to meet up with anyone stopping by and show you around the city!

I am on couchsurfing now to find hosts for my partner and I as we plan our vacation to Italy this October.

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE music, so it is very hard for me to pick a favorite genre or artist. I will say that I have a few favorite albums. Béla Fleck and the Flectones "Left of Cool" , Lauryn Hill's "Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" and Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors." I am open to most all types of music and love seeing live shows!

Annie Hall and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory are both on my list of favorite movies.

Two of my favorite authors are Barbara Kingsolver and Terry Tempest Williams. Both of these women are incredibly talented in writing about nature, environmentalism, and connection to place. I also love essays and short stories!
