About Me

Hey CouchSurfers!

I enjoy to travel and discover new places, and people as well! I got to know about Couchsurfing a while back, and I am glad of being able to experience its culture/mindset! Up to this moment I've had 3 amazing experiences in CS, and I am hoping to have more in the near future!

Even if I'm not able to host at the moment, don't doubt to write me if you're in Bogota! I'd love to show you the places I know in the city, enjoy some great conversations, share food or even give you tips if that's what you're looking for! I am not prejudiced whatsoever, instead, I tend to keep an open mind and learn from the experiences I have. I'm truly interested in meeting locals and their cultures along the way!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Some friends used Couchsurfing in the past, so I decided to give it a try! I also saw some videos that changed my perspective of travelling. I find the idea/philosophy of this platform quite interesting and wholesome, and I would like to be part of it.

Some of the videos I mentioned:

I finally had my first experiences in CouchSurfing, and I have to say that it was even better than what I expected! I had the opportunity of meeting amazing people, to learn a bit about their culture, and share some memorable times with them. Now, I am hoping to keep having more experiences in the future!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
- I enjoy listening lot to Blues and Jazz. BB King, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holyday, Louis Armstrong, and Stevie Ray Vaughan are some of my favorite artist.

- When I was young I felt in love with Rock and Metal, I'm a BIG fan of Foo fighters, Foals, IDLES, and Alter Bridge

- Now I am also listening to more Latin music, like Salsa and Bolero. Both genres are very cultural, so I enjoy listening to their lyrics.

Movies:
- I love all the movies from Ghibli Studios! My favorite movies of all time are "Spirited Away" and Howl's Moving Castle"

- I also enjoy comedies and Comedy Specials (my favorite comedians right now are Tom Segura, Bill Burr and Dave Chappell).

Series:
The Good Place, Peaky Blinders, Bojack Horseman, Lucifer, How I Met Your Mother, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Mind Hunters...

Books:
My favorite book is "El Tunel" from the Argentinian writer Ernesto Sábato. Also, I'm reading right now The Lord of The Rings, because I loved the movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A couple years ago I volunteered for a while in a non-profit organization that builds houses for the low-income population in Colombia. The experience was amazing because we worked alongside with the communities were getting the houses, so you got to know more about them... I think that it has been one of the most fulfilling things I've done in my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone has their own interests and a lot to offer/teach!
In my case, I could teach you to play guitar and maybe to sing (... not that well, but at least with confidence ), as well as about Colombian culture. I also like to learn and practice different languages, so I could teach you Spanish.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share with you my culture! You might know some thing about my home-country (Colombia), but I can assure you that I'll be able to show you more! Also, I'll try my best to bring some regional candy (or coffee) to share!

Besides that, I'm a very open minded person, so if I know something that you might need, or if you want to ask me any sort of question, I'll be willing to share it with you.
