ABOUT ME

I was a lawyer in another life, but left and came to study French in Paris. :)

Quirky but socially acceptable. Introspective but not antisocial. Enthusiastic but not rabid. Irreverent but not disrespectful. Messy and tidy in turns. Loves picking up new languages but has the memory of a goldfish. Has amassed an unhealthy number of notebooks. Owns too many trenchcoats for one living in a tropical country.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Taking night walks (and standing up to road bullies) in Vienna; attempting to help cook pasta and almost having my laundry hailed on in Innsbruck; learning the best haggling tips in Prague; partying at a night festival in Heidelberg till 6; watching the puppets leave Berlin on Germany's 20th national day; chilling at Napoleon's tomb in Paris; driving for hours and hours and hours in the south of France; having the Mediterranean Sea take my breath away in Barcelona; freezing happily at -14 degrees Celsius in Krakow. Hopefully I'll be able to add to this list with you!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumping into a freezing lake in Locarno at 5am. Jumping into a freezing fountain in Moscow at 5pm. The red sands of the Saudi Arabian desert at 48 degrees Celsius. Taking the Leap of Faith in Dubai. Completing a three-hour hike through Cappadocia. Les Calanques. Iles de Lavezzi. Dying my way through Stage 15 of the GR20. The pure goodness of strangers.
