Présentation
À propos de moi
Hello everyone,
I'm Alice, I am 26 and currently live in London where I have spent the past 5 years.
I am the founder of a small events floristry business called 'Buds and Bees', we provide spectacular events displays for a range of events and keep everything we do bee-friendly by contributing a percentage of our profits to 'London Bee-Keeping Association'.
When I am not working with real flowers I still keep things floral with my other business 'The Flower Girls - Jardin De Fleurs' I co-founded this business with my friend Emma this year. The Flower Girls run 'Make your Own' flower headdress workshops at festivals and craft fairs, where customers can pick their own flowers from our garden and create their own party piece of head-wear.
When I am not working with flowers I do ad-hoc work for a successful tech start-up in the healthcare industry.
I have spent the past 2 years living in a wonderfully inspiring, live/work warehouse in North London with 19 other self-employed creatives. This has been a fabulous experience and has allowed me to live with people from 7 different nationalities and share our enthusiasm for creative community living.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I am looking to couch surf as have decided to take a sabbatical from my city life to explore other countries and specifically my passion for sailing.
I am on a limited budget and hope that couch surfing will enable me to travel more by saving those precious pennies, but more importantly will be a fantastic way to meet local people in the places I visit. There is no better advice on things to see, and places to go than the advice from people who live in that place.
Hopefully through couch surfing I will be able to make new friends and share experiences.
Centres d'intérêt
I have a varied set of interests ranging from electronic music festivals to quiet and wholesome sailing holidays.
I love to cook for people and especially to share knowledge on food and food from different cultures.
Going out dancing with my friends is one of my favourite things to do. I also own a kayak which I like to take out as frequently as possible.
In the past I was a very dedicated horse rider and studied natural horsemanship, although I have not ridden for a few years now I would be very enthusiastic to have the opportunity to do so again (not the easiest in London).
Please feel free to ask if you would like to know anything more.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
My music taste is as varied as it gets and I like something from all genres ranging from pop to reggae to folk to hip hop. So far the only genre I can 100% say that I have not enjoyed is Psy-trance :-) (Sorry to all you psy-trance lovers out there)
I do not watch many films but love an adventure or nature documentary.
I am currently reading Landscapes by Robert Macfarlane.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I feel really proud of setting up my two small businesses and although they are both in their infancy I am excited by what the future holds and am proud that I was brave enough to quit my job and make my dream a reality.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
Yes please!
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I am very sociable and easy company and would love to be able to spend evenings chatting with my hosts and sharing our life experiences.
If my hosts are interested in joining me to go out in the city this would also be fabulous.
Also I love to cook for people so would be very keen to cook for my hosts.
And of course, if you would like to learn any floristry techniques I am happy to teach all I know.
