PHILOSOPHY

"God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Some dude named Kurt.

My ambitions tend to dictate my general direction. I don't ever want to feel as though I've learned enough. Levity is always welcome. Perspective is everything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I offer up one of the various couches in my co-op, and when I travel, CS is always plan A.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In the past, I've couchsurfed in Orlando, FL and Charlotte, SC. Both positive experiences. My friends and I were on a road trip following a band around the southeast, and to thank our hosts, we bought them tickets to the shows we were attending. It was enjoyable.

Interests

Indulging my every whim, mostly. Reading and writing, ogling pugs, cooperative living and working, education reform [particularly open source education, Unschooling, and multidisciplinary pursuit], road trips, web comics, photographing unsuspecting people as they sleep, cooking, sweaty yoga, unreasonably strong coffee, erratic conversation, language, auto-didacticism, live music, and there's more, if you can believe it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll just state the last movie I enjoyed, the last song I chose to play, and the book I am currently reading-

Last watched: Castaway on the Moon

Last song played: 'Going to Georgia' by the Mountain Goats

Currently reading: Necessary Illusions

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the Summer of 2007, while vacationing in southwestern Turkey, I was afforded the opportunity to visit Pamukkale which, in the Turkish language, translates to "cotton castle." Pamukkale is a mammoth thing of natural hot springs with multi-level terraces of carbonate minerals and calcium deposits. And, yeah, I guess it was kind of beautiful, I mean whatever. I am privileged is what I am trying to say.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could revise your writing, help you bake gluten-free bread or cook pad Thai, give you bad fashion advice, cut your hair, practice sweaty grody yoga, suggest provoking/crass pieces of media....um, be the mother you neither had nor wanted, and help you learn to love your goddamn self.

I'd like to learn how to effectively operate a blow torch, blow glass, throw pots, sword-swallow, (re-learn) piano, learn more languages! I am teaching myself embroidery.
