About Me
It took a very long time for me to fill out my profile, and it will probably take me even longer to get the hang of couch surfing. Life seems to get in the way. And I hate condensing myself into a few words and categories, I always seem to come out disappointing.
I'm from New England, and I miss its autumns more than anything. Growing up, I lived on the outskirts of town and had a forest to get lost in. My parents took me camping, hiking, and traveling whenever they could.
When I was nine I got my first taste of mountains, the Rocky Mountains (real mountains). And since then, I am never as happy as when I am alone in a valley, dwarfed by the rocky peaks surrounding me.
Now I live in the United Kingdom, toiling away to get my name on a piece of paper. Whenever I can, I break away and explore. And when I can't, I explore anyway, just in books instead.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Traveling is important to me. And the beauty I find in traveling is not just in the sights I see, but in the human experiences I find. Traveling, experiencing the kindness and cruelness of strangers, has taught me that if we were only to look at each other directly, talk to each other one on one, it would be so easy to see the beauty in each other.
I'm on couchsurfing because I want to keep my faith in people alive. I want people to continue to trust each other, and see beauty in each other, in a world growing ever more fast and distrusting.
