55 year old adventurous lover of life, nature, people and cultures. I am also a father of two amazing children, both grown and on their own. Thus far, I have traveled through several European countries, Canada, The West Indies, Hong Kong, Thailand, India and Peru, I have a passion for cultural anthropology, indigenous cultures, music, deep meaningful connections and community building, among other things.

Several reasons. I had heard about the site some time ago, and decided to look into it for travel reasons. I was thoroughly impressed with the intention that was put forth while reading the description. Travelling cheap or inexpensively makes a big difference for so many people, and the added bonus is that we can make more meaningful connections with one another the world over.
I also like to host and provide for other travelers as a way of giving back.

Movies: Avatar, several jim Jarmusch films, movies that make me laugh like Get Him to the Greek, really good romances stories like Shakespeare in Love and more.
Books: Of Water and the Spirit by Malidoma Some, Secrets of the Talking Jaguar bu Martin Prechtel, several Tom Brown Jr books The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles, The poetry of Rilke, Hafiz, Rumi and my favorite contemporary poet Aisha Wolfe.

I can certainly be a great host to those who do not know much of this magical mystical island where I live as I was born and raised here, and have been back for the past 8 years after being away for 28 years.
