About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I graduated from an Naval Architecture degree in December and in typical graduate behaviour I am now travelling for a year. I am trying to spend the majority of my time outside; hiking, backpacking, camping, fishing etc.

ABOUT ME

I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors. I like to travel and read. I would consider myself easy to get along with, but I could be biased. I prefer an easy, natural pace of life.
I work hard for the money I earn, I would rather not spend it on comparatively expensive hotels, especially when there are great people out there like the couchsurfing community.

PHILOSOPHY

To find enlightenment and joy in the everyday.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Although my repertoire is limited, I do enjoy cooking. If any house/yard work that needs to done will be done, mowing lawns, fixing things that aren't electrified etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have officially couchsurfed only a couple times, but I have unofficially hosted and been hosted by friends and friends of friends many times, on many couches.

Interests

I like the outdoors, if I can participate in a recreational activity outside, that is even better. I like to travel and read.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a range of music encompassing 70's rock (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd...), modern hip-hop (Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean) to modern alternative (Mac Demarco, Jim James). I like a lot of music. I love a good Kubrick film. Any movie that gives you something to think about. Although Lord of the Rings and Star Wars are all-time classics for me. I read a range from non-fiction science to science-fiction. I will read almost any book you throw at me, but I won't like you if you throw books at me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walking and working with pumas and jaguars for several months in the Bolivian jungle at Parque Ambue Ari.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have had a diverse range of work, study and recreation experience. I have completed 4 seasons on a tuna purse-seine vessel (I can help you with knots and ropes and snorkelling), I have an engineering degree (I can help you with maths and physics), I've played a lot of sport in Australia (I can teach you the ways of cricket and Australian Rules Football - if you haven't heard of AFL you should check it out on youtube right now - if you like football).

I am willing to learn anything, everything can give you something to learn.

What I Can Share with Hosts
