About Me

Hi! My name is Scott and I am 25 years old. I love to travel, see new places, and especially meet new people! I have worked in the non-profit sector, helping university students develop their skills and land jobs in Tech and Finance, and have worked in Tech myself for a few years.

I also LOVE animals :D

I like to take my video camera with me to document the cool people places and things I come across as a hobby! I am starting to upload my adventures to YouTube for fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think meeting locals is the best way to really get to know a city and culture. Once I had traveled to many places I started to realize that the normal touristy things in each place are relatively the same, and the people are what makes the place special! I recently learned about couch surfing and am excited for the possibilities it opens up!

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC - I like most types of music and tolerate country. I really enjoy popular types of music fused with different cultures. I recently discovered Mexican reggae and British rap.

MOVIES - I love comedies! I really like to laugh and enjoy life so I stick to comedy movies. I get nightmares when I watch horror.

BOOKS - I like to read but admittedly I don't get enough of it this year. I'm kind of all over the place with book genres. I've read a few fiction novels. I really enjoyed the few Kurt Vonnegut (surrealist) novels and am running through the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series as well. I've also been known to dabble in philosophy and books by leaders I look up to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I visited 100 Universities in a single year!

Teach, Learn, Share

- I used to coach university students ad young professionals on getting jobs. I have helped my friends and network land jobs at technology companies, finance, and big consulting firms. I am happy to help anyone with their resume if they are looking to approach a new job or just to keep their files maintained!

-I am great help in the kitchen! One of my favorite things to do when traveling is learn how the locals cook their food. I once helped a friend in Venice hand press olive oil and make pasta! I've cooked churrasco in Colombia and cooked tacos with a street vendor in Mexico!

-If you have anything you'd like to promote (maybe a business, maybe a cause or organization) I would be happy to promote it in a video I share! Hopefully that offer will be very valuable one day but for now, tens of people will see it! :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

I travel relatively light. Will probably only have my backpack with me. I try to be as courteous as possible and my plans are usually very flexible if it is easier for you to adjust.

I will probably have a camera with me to make YouTube videos while I travel. I would love to include my hosts in the videos as it is always fun to have, but I totally understand if you wold prefer to not be in them or have anything shot at your house, just let me know!
