I'm a little reserved at first around people I've just met, but more than anything I want to know people. I could go quite a long time without saying about myself because I love listening to people's stories. But I'm a storyteller too. I writer, and most of the traveling I do is for my writing. I'm low-maintenance--except to date. But this isn't a dating site, is it?

I was at a bonfire with friends on the Missouri River last spring. A friend said, "Look." We looked. Meteor shower. This wasn't the first time I'd seen the sky streaked with light, but it was the first time it happened without knowing it would happen.

I spent three weeks in northern Minnesota--in and near the boundary waters. One morning I took my cup of coffee to the shore of a lake and watched--for 45 minutes--a water lily open. I didn't drink my coffee or look away.
