About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life to the fullest

ABOUT ME

Wrap me up in words? I have been told I am earnest and trustworthy, and I like to play. The quality of relationships is much more important than quantity. I'm not a groupie, and am fine missing the bandwagon. I take the high road before the low, and prefer those trails less traveled (Laos over Dubai, Grand Canyon over Vegas). I like my desert first, but am sure to eat a healthy meal afterwards.

PHILOSOPHY

Every yin has a yang.

Interests

I like exploring other cultures, food, music, art, and history. I like the atmosphere of the city, as well as the freedom of the outdoors. I prefer playing games to watching them. I don't own a TV, but love a good movie. Hobbies range from tai chi, yoga, and climbing, to writing, theater, and (of course) travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I would need to write a dissertation to capture all this. Suffice to say, I grew up with rock and roll, rhythm and blues, classic (before dance hall) reggae, punk, ska, and eventually jazz, classical, and world music. As for books and movies, we can save that for conversation if you are curious.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

White water rafting 18 days down the Grand Canyon.

Stumbling upon a Cuban salsa band practicing in the streets of Havana.

Heading out into the open sea for 5 days on a small fishing boat with Sri Lankan fishermen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been teaching tai chi for over 20 years, and I also have a strong practice in yoga, and practice shiatsu. I am also more than happy to discuss my profession in international aid and development.
