About Me

ABOUT ME

After over five years outside of the couchsurfing loop, I am happy to return as a member of this community. Couchsurfing had given me so much when I first started traveling, and I am looking forward to meeting more like-minded travelers in a post-pandemic world (if that's possible).

I'm an ENFP laid back, outgoing person who enjoys traveling and most importantly, meeting new people. I'm a very straight-forward communicator who tends to be very sarcastic at time. I always see the best in people. I started couchsurfing over ten years ago across the USA, and later hosted after moving to China.

After working as a math teacher in Guangxi, China, I moved to Taiwan to study my MBA for three years. Since then, I have returned to the USA and now have the luxury of working remotely for a small market research company. I hope to host travelers in the future when I am more settled down. In the meantime, I'm excited to get back out into the world and travel once again!

PHILOSOPHY

If you want something in life, reach out and grab it. Don't have any regrets. Sometimes people get so caught up in their everyday lives that they forget to appreciate things and invest in the things most important to them. Travel makes you rich.

Always put aside time for yourself. You are the most important person in your life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started Couchsurfing over ten years ago back when it was a free website. I spent over six months Couchsurfing across the USA and then in various destinations around the world.

I'm a part of this community to meet new like-minded travelers, learn about new cultures, languages, be introduced to new delicious food, and just to better myself as a person.

Interests

I love talking about food, relationships, life, and traveling.

My hobbies include learning languages, play video/board games, swing dancing, yoga, hiking, scuba diving, and planning future travel!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy reading books about languages, personal finance, relationships, and travel. Recently, I have read the Seven Hour Work Week, I Will Teach You to Be Rich, and Attached.

I love Chinese music! Please take me to bubble tea and KTV.

As long as I can sleep after watching it, I will pretty much watch any movie, except for Christmas ones!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Why have one when you can have more?!

La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona at Dusk
Skydiving over Pennsylvania
Hiking a glacier in Iceland
A road trip around the entire U.S.A
The night sky of Yosemite at midnight
4 day liveaboard dive trip on the Great Barrier Reef
Motorbiking northern Thailand
Getting my MBA in Taiwan
Learning Chinese
Quitting my job to live in China

Teach, Learn, Share

I really enjoy cooking so I would love to cook for other travelers or learn new recipes. I am always willing to listen and offer advice based on my personal experiences. I can also teach you to Swing dance as I have been doing that since I was in college! I can now speak Mandarin Chinese also if you would be interested in learning that!

I'd love to learn more languages or cooking recipes! I am not very musical, but I'd love to learn to play an instrument at some point in my life. I still love singing in the shower.
