ABOUT ME

I was born and bred in Australia and then got a slight case of the travel bug, so I decided to head off to see the rest of the world. I told my mum I'd be back soon and sure enough, 10 years and 70 or so countries later I have now returned to Melbourne. Along the way I saw some amazing places of course, but more amazing for me was the people I met. I learnt that people all around the world share the human spirit. And discovering couchsurfing has confirmed my faith in the human spirit.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I am travelling I like to surf and meet up with people. Now I am living in Melbourne and hosting other travellers. I also attend some of the events here in Melbourne.

For me it is not about a free bed for the night, it is very much about a cultural exchange. I love meeting people from all around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had many fantastic experiences with couchsurfing already and I am looking forward to many more. I´ve made some great friends and met many interesting people. What a great community of like minded people.

Whilst living in Colombia I went to many couchsurfing parties, played football with couchsurfers, shared many coffees and intercambios, even helped distribute agua panella to the homeless people in Bogotà.

Whilst travelling I have stayed on a couch in a pub, in a 2 metre square room with 10 other couchsurfers and at least once in a hammock. Always it has been great fun and I am constantly amazed by the genorosity of couchsurfers.

Interesses

Studying Spanish, surfing (both on couches and on waves), Diving, Philosophising over Tacos and beer.

My favourite movie is Point Break (sad I know), but I used to know every word off by heart.

I love music festivals. Glastonbury in the UK is my favourite. Best festival moment was Radiohead.

Favourite book, probably the old man and the sea. Hemmingway.

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

I visited Tibet about 15 years ago. It is still the most amazing place I have been.
