About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see, hear, listen to and absorb, and to participate in humanity. That pretty much sums it up.

ABOUT ME

I enjoy traveling, but it also scared me but I believe "Life is learning from experience, the moment you retire from that is the moment you stop living"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Buying someone dinner or a case of beer is usually cheaper than a hotel, plus I love meeting locals for where I travel. I live in a tourist town and live it when travelers take an interest in local culture, rather than going around taking pictures of everything they see.

Interests

Climbing, downhill and backcountry snowboarding, badminton and swing dancing.

Music, Movies, and Books

For music I'm a total hipster, but at least I'll admit it, you've probably never heard of them and I only like them because I've been a fan of them because of some connection. Mostly it is because I am lazy to search for new music and I've got enough friends who make good music that I just listen to their music. I enjoy sad movies for some reason, like The Boy in Striped Pajamas or The Book Thief. I don't read a lot, but I really enjoy reading Biographies. The last biography I finished was Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Pastor Martyr Spy. Highly recommend to any WWII history geek.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once got heli-rescued off Mt Aberdeen, Lake Louise. Weather got unusually and unexpectedly warm and we ran out of ice and snow got stranded when we couldn't rappel. Pretty scary but how many people can say they've dangled 30ft below a helicopter?
