About Me

Hello,

I love to travel. I really enjoy meeting new people and learning about different world perspectives. I am new to couchsurfing. I signed up for it a long time ago, but never used it. I am looking to become more active in Couchsurfing now.

I'm a snowboard instructor in Vail, and I'm currently doing a snowboard road trip to hit all the mountain in the Rockies and Sierra Nevadas this winter. I would love to meet some cool people along the way through CS! If you want to ride together let me know!

I did host some couchsurfers with my ex girlfriend in Japan. I really enjoyed meeting new people from around the world. Normally I have stayed at hostels, and had apartments abroad, but I have stayed on a lot of friends' couches, and vice versa :) I have spent about 4 years backpacking, working, and living abroad. I first went to Italy, then Spain, and around Europe a bit. Then in 2012 I moved to New Zealand for 10 months, love Kiwiland!!! Spent some time in Japan, SE Asia, Australia, and Central America. Love the world!

I also enjoy cooking, longboarding, snowboarding, reading, writing, concerts, music, going out with friends, dancing, and meeting new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet new people and get some local flavor as I continue to explore this big, awesome planet.

Interests

Cooking, longboarding, snowboarding, reading, writing, concerts, music, going out with friends, dancing, and meeting new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Rock, Modern folk, EDM, Alt rock
I love Mumford and Sons, M83, Kygo, Imagine Dragons, Avett brothers, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Modest Mouse, and many others :)

For books, I love Hunter S Thompson, favorite is the Rum Diaries. Also Kurt Vonnegut, Bukowski (he's hilarious.) All Dan Simmons, particularly the epic sci fi, Ilium! Stranger in A Strange Land by Heinlein was a formative book for my life philosophy.

And of course Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter.

For movies, it's all over the place.Seven was awesome. And Fight Club, Rounders, Interstellar, The Prestige, Land Before Time, Toy Story, Pan's Labyrinth, Star Wars, The Rock(so awesomely cheesy) Dumb and Dumber, the Hangover. Pretty much anything I think is good or makes me laugh, or a mind bender. Always looking for new, good movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rode out a typhoon in Fujinomiya, Japan under the entrance to a Shinto monastery. Everything I owned was wet for like a week.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning and teaching languages. I also love just learning from other people's philosophies, and sharing my own. And stories, I love swapping and making stories! Seriously isn't that one of the main things life is about?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I cook some decent Italian food, so I can make a solid, pesto or carbonara, or maybe some curry if that's your flavor. If you want to learn I can show you, or just enjoy eating it!

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, Cambodia, Canada, Cayman Islands, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, England, France, Germany, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Ireland, Laos, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Northern Ireland, Peru, San Marino, Scotland, Switzerland, Tanzania, Thailand, Vatican City State, Viet Nam
