About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel and personal growth.

ABOUT ME

I'm an honest person who likes to have a drink or two can easily spend an entire day reading at a cafe. I play a bit of chess even though I'm not very good I like playing anyway. Enjoy a good conversation over a beverage, generally beer or coffee. Smoke a little too much which is kind of a social tick. I subconciously just keep rolling cigarettes while sitting and talking.. Say stupid things without thinking sometimes but always has good intentions. Has a positive outlook on life and enjoys living in the moment. Like meeting new people and am a pretty good listener, I think.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat people as they you like to be treated yourself and take it easy. No stress.

Very new to couchsurfing! Haven't been hosted or hosted yet.

Interests

I've studied graphic design and enjoy learning more and making more. I'm interested in design and visual arts. I would like to be a better drawer and painter so I practice. I'm trying to be more politically aware and involved so learning more about politics. Spend a lot of time on the internet reading about interesting things happening in the world. There is some crazy stuff going on..

Music, Movies, and Books

Books
I read quite a lot. At the moment I'm reading Moby Dick but am a little bit bored by it, the descriptions give a great sense of the enormity of the ocean and it's creatures and an encapsulation of what life was like in those times and Melville weaves the language very well but generally I like more modern writing. David Foster Wallace, Brett Easton Ellis, Chuck Palanuic. And some beat stuff Jack Keroac, Burroughs, Ginsberg, Bukowski.

Music
Punk, Rock, grunge, Electronic, some experimental and hardcore, occasionally I listen to some trashy house music.

Movies
I'm pretty obsessed with TED talks and watch heaps of them. I haven't been in much of a mood to watch like pure entertainment movies for a while but I do watch a lot of documentaries. I really loved The Universe, God and Everything Else which had Stephen Hawking, Carl Sagan and Arthur C Clark talking about the expansion of the universe and stuff and that blew my mind. Food Inc. was pretty good. The World According To Monsanto was pretty informative. You can learn so much from these films and inspirational people that are available to watch on the internet but in the end it's about how you apply what you learn from these films/clips into your daily life that really matters and that's the hard part. Applying these things to your own daily life in order to make the world a better place, one small decision at a time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've met some amazing people in my life. While hitchhiking around Europe and Australia Ive been picked up by such lovely people and these are the truly amazing things I've experienced. Thought provoking, generous, lovely people.
