ABOUT ME

I am 70 years old and was born and raised in Utah. My other family member is my Dachshund by the name of Doodles. If you like dogs she will enjoy sitting on your lap or even going for a walk in our lovely condo development. Moved away from Utah at age 27 and have lived in Denver and Chicago and for 35 years in California. I worked in telecom for 25 years, most of that with ATT but I have since retired. Travel has always been my love and have been to 45 of the 50 US states and lived in Brazil for 2 years. I have visited the UK, Spain, Gibraltar, Holland, France, Germany, Canada, Mexico, and South Africa. I have taken many cruises to various places. HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Started getting involved in the past 12 years and have hosted some great people. Still looking forward to that first opportunity to surf and see so much of the world I plan to visit more of the US and revisit my favorite places and 5 more states to see! It's been great meeting people from all over my country and the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Experience hosting has been mostly good so far and I have made some good friends for the future. I respond to ALL requests and I do my best to accommodate. I have recently decided that it is best not to host single women unless they have good references and have some history of Couchsurfing. I always want to be comfortable in my home and not worry about offending anyone.

The biggest interest in my life is Doodles, my dog, and walking her, loving and cuddling with her and she is so loved by everyone that comes to stay or visit. She will soon be 14 and is my 5th dachshund and 9th dog,

I enjoy going out to the movies especially to see the big screen blockbusters. My biggest source of entertainment is NETFLIX. I usually read the newspaper, magazines, lots of web news and info. I love all kinds of music and I especially enjoy having SIRIUSXM in the car and the house. That is probably about 90% of my listening since you can be so diverse with what you select.

I was able to fly in the Goodyear blimp all over Metro Los Angeles area and it was amazing.

Watch out for those who sign up only to attend a special event where housing is limited or too expensive for many. They just hear about CS and do nothing to verify who they are or even understand the concept of the program. Also, I find it's great to have a phone number so you can text or speak on the phone before the guests arrive. It helps to create a connection ahead of time. I am always trying to learn from other hosts and also often my guests will tell me great things about a certain host and what that person did or didn't do to make their experience a good one.
