Currently, I am the multimedia editor at a community newspaper in Southern Virginia, where I help the community talk about the issues of the day. Photography is my passport into worlds in which I would otherwise have no other business being. In 2010, I quit my very fun newspaper job in the Seacoast of New Hampshire to follow my heart. Together we traversed the USA taking pictures and recording some the stories of folks we met along the way. When I'm not working I enjoy a low key lifestyle to recharge, seeing live music and searching for my next favorite type of beer.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a kind, gentle listener. I'd like to be more of a watchdog so as to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.

Searching: Hi there!
I just accepted a new job as a photojournalist at the Rockford Register Star beginning Dec. 4.
I'm currently living in Petersburg, Va., and I have to move to Illinois without seeing the place before hand. This is a relatively quick transition and I'm interested in a temporary home base while I look at and pay for a new apartment in the city.
I have my 7-year-old, 16-pound mini poodle named Oliver with me and I hope to find a place that can host us while I work/house hunt during the day. Oliver doesn't bark and is mostly content sleeping in his dog bed most of the day.
As a way of saying thank you for your generosity, I can cook the occasional chicken dinner and/or stir fry. And I can barter custom family portraits/glamour shots.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed for four days in Austin, TX, back in 2010, and again in Corpus Cristi for a week in March, 2014. Big loves all around!

My family is the caretaker of 75 acres of pristine Appalachian country side in southwestern Virginia. If a person can ever claim ownership over another thing, I am blessed that my family has preserved this natural beauty.
