About Me

Hello!

So, I love to travel, to Freedive, and go spearfishing and that has shaped my personality a bit in past years. I just finished up a year and a half of travel, and am moving to Colorado for work! I am incredibly passionate about the ocean, growing and harvesting my own food, and building connections and growing through meeting new and unusual humans. In the past year I have traveled to Europe, Asia, and Africa diving, becoming a Freedive Instructor and spearfishing. I am headed back to work, for hopefully only a year, before I go to start my journey to build a free dive school somewhere tropical and beachy. I am very open minded, and love to meet new people. I grew up in Pennsylvania, where my family hosted five exchange students from all over the world, this lead me with an insatiable wanderlust at a young age. I didn't realize it until I first traveled to Hawaii to work for my aunt on her new house. Ever since, I have saved all of my money to get out as much as possible. I am very new to couch surfing, however I have spent much of my time traveling in hostels, so I know how to be a polite guest/roommate. I love to cook, and to share new foods with friends. Please, if you are vegetarian or vegan, do not hesitate to reach out to me because I have dead fish in my pictures. My girlfriend is vegetarian, and I understand peoples' reasoning. I personally, love the connection with my food, and would like to share my perspective and how I hope to solve (at least try, to make some positive impact) the issues that our society has when it comes to agriculture and factory farming.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new to the Denver area and would love to meet some new friends in the area. I like to connect with people and would be honored to cook for you in trade of a place to stay for a day or two. Also, I really enjoy hiking and the outdoors, which are at times, more fun when you share them with other people, so lets go hiking! I am really interested in the melting pot that is Denver and am interested in your story, where you are from, and how you are enjoying life in Denver!

Interests

I kinda already covered it above and you may be tired of reading about the ocean and connecting with your food, buttt, thats what Ive got. I'm pretty passionate but that Isn't all that I like to talk about. Other than sports, I can have a conversation regarding just about anything!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: All kinds, as long as the artist is talented. I listen to a ton of Joe Rogan Tim Ferris and Gary Vaynerchuck Podcasts as well
Movies: Anything with Matt Damon, Jim Carrey, or Will Smith

Books: Deep (Its about Freediving)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

While doing some free dive training, our group had a whale randomly approach us. In that experience, we (the whale and I) were able to share several amazing moments together alone in the middle of the ocean together. It was a life changing experience, and if you really want to see my eyes light up, ask me about it!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:

I love to teach people about the ocean and free diving. Using breathing techniques to learn to calm anxiety and to increase athletic performance is very interesting to me.

Learn:

I would love to learn about local culture and where you call home. Also any cool skills that you have, I try to empty my cup so that I can learn new things daily. Since my girlfriend is vegetarian, I would love to learn any recipes that you have so that I can impress her when she comes over.

Share:

I don't have many material goods, however I love having conversations about your and my passions. So I can cook and we can share a conversation about what we are most passionate about.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook a mean meal, whatever your dietary preferences are. I might need some help with Vegan, but everything else Ive got covered. Also, I can teach a bit about free diving, deep meditative breathing, and breath holds. I have lots of stories about traveling, and would love to hear yours.
