ABOUT ME

Born in Santa Cruz, grew up a surfer kid. I have one older brother. My mom was a teacher so we would travel every summer, that's where I got the travel/adventure bug. I got involved with music in Junior High and now that is mostly what I do. I like all kinds of music but lately I have been playing mostly swing,ragtime,klezmer/balkan music and composing modern classical chamber music. I have lived in Spain for 2 years and have travelled all over western europe, some of eastern europe, central america, colombia, mexico, canada, indonesia, singapore, hong kong as well as all over the U.S. I am now a full time musician playing and touring quite a bit.

PHILOSOPHY

I like helping people, if they are passionate about something (anything) I try to connect them to other people that may be able to help them get what they need and go where they need to go. And I have been very lucky to have found people that do the same for me.

I want to host people and find hosts. Show people the great things I have found in the world and vice versa.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been on tour with bands that had couch surfers in them and I would stay as a friend of a surfer. Now I want to host and give back the love and also find people to stay with when I tour.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Music, swing,ragtime,jazz manouche, klezmer, balkan, flamenco, blues, gamelan, folk, classical, experimental. There is not much music I don't like.
Movies-Lacho Drom, Koyannisquatsi (is that how you spell it?) Comedies. I don't watch too many movies really

I taught music in a maximum security prison for 3 years in CA.

Musicians of course, cooks, permaculture folks, artists, poets, sailors, nutritionists,botanists. I think you can learn from anybody really.

I can show you around the city if I am not to busy. I can give you recommendations of places to go and things to do. A good meal and a jam session and a place to sleep.
