About Me

Hi! I'm a 38-year-old music producer and mix engineer based in Prague since 2010. Originally from Dallas, Texas.

I make music for a living—it's what drives me creatively. I also work as a mix engineer, helping bring other people's visions to life through sound. (My work has ended up on TV shows around the world, which is pretty cool.)

When I'm not in the studio, you'll find me at pub trivia, belting out karaoke, or training at gymnastics—I try to hit all three at least once a week. I'm appreciate finding new dog friends when I travel. I'm passionate about wildlife photography, constantly chasing new experiences and skills, and I genuinely believe the best education comes from conversations with people from different cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been part of this community since 2006—back when everyone thought I was a little crazy for trusting strangers with my couch in Boston! Those early days taught me that Couchsurfing is about genuine human connection, not just free accommodation. Now based in Prague, I'm here to give back and stay connected to the community that shaped me. I'm looking for hangouts and meetups where I can learn about how you see the world and share Prague life together. The friendships and cultural understanding I've gained here over the years are invaluable.

Interests

Beyond the weekly routine (trivia, karaoke, gymnastics), I'm endlessly curious. I take cooking courses whenever I travel—it's the best way to understand a culture. Wildlife photography keeps me exploring nature, whether it's through a lens or just being present in wild spaces. I'm the type who says "yes" to trying something new, whether that's a local tradition, a different cuisine, or a skill I've never attempted. Learning never stops for me and keeps life interesting and fun.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Pop-punk holds a special place in my heart (Simple Plan, The Rocket Summer, All Time Low), but honestly, I'm a musical omnivore. One of my favorite things while traveling is discovering what you're listening to—local music tells amazing stories about a place.

Movies/TV: I'm a comedy person—The Office, Parks and Recreation, Trial & Error.

Books: Self-development mostly—I'm always working on understanding myself and the world better.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been fortunate enough to have some extraordinary travel moments that still feel surreal:

Walked with penguins in Antarctica
Swam with sea lions in the Galápagos
Trekked to see mountain gorillas in Uganda
Hiked to Everest Base Camp in Nepal
Flew in the backseat of a fighter jet

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about:

Music creation and production (even if you think you're "not musical"—everyone has a story in them)
The business side of creative work
Photography principles

I want to learn from you:

What your life actually looks like day-to-day
Your cultural beliefs, both traditional and modern
How your place's history shaped who you are and your community
How you navigate life in ways different from mine

We can share:

Cooking together—I'll help, and I'm genuinely interested in how you make food special
Exploring Prague together (or your city, if you're hosting me elsewhere)
Finding spontaneous adventures—karaoke, hidden spots, local events

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking help — I'm useful in the kitchen and genuinely enjoy it
Tours and exploration — I love showing people around and discovering new neighborhoods together
Local insights — I can point you toward the real Prague (not the touristy version)
Fun hangouts — I know where to find good karaoke, trivia nights, and weird local spots
Conversation and laughter — I'm here to actually connect, not just crash on your couch
Music talk — Whether you're curious about how music production works or just want to debate band rankings
