About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to meet new people around the country and share experiences!

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Texas with 3 older brothers and 1 younger sister. I spent the last 10 years of my life dedicating the majority of my time to music. I'm a drummer and pianist. Classical is more of my specialty but I do improv from time to time. Before music my life was sports, more specifically baseball. During high school was when my life shifted from baseball to music, but I still stay active by playing beach volleyball whenever I can. I just recently graduated with my master's degree in music from Indiana University and have moved back to my hometown in Houston! Lately i've been traveling alot, and as it goes, the more I do the more I want to travel!

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is to take life as it comes to you, and not go searching for it. I'm very much a spur of the moment kind of guy. While there are times when plans need to be made, I like to take life one step at a time, just with a final destination in mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I usually couchsurf whenever I can unless I am with my fiancée. I have hosted numerous people in the past and every one of them have been delightfully unique.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have much more experience hosting surfers than I do traveling myself. I love hearing about the experiences that people have had in their lives. Many surfers I hosted have become long-time friends/aquaintances and have surfed/hosted me on more than one occasion and I think that is what couch surfing is about! I love knowing that I have a place to stay in Nashville, or in a small town outside of Shanghai. It's also especially interesting to host and hear about people who are traveling across the United States on motorcycle or even on foot!

Interests

I love my fiancee, I love music, I love volleyball, and I love to cook/bake. These 4 things keep me going in life :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a student of music, so I can usually find pleasure in every part of the musical spectrum. Movies need to have a good plot; Shawshank Redemption, Memoirs of a Geisha, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Gladiator. As for books, I like the informational stuff; 'This is Your Brain on Music', 'The Inner Game of Tennis'. I also like the Harry Potter series, Catch Me If You Can, Ender's Game, The Great Gatsby .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the most amazing thing I've seen would have to be the Great Wall... my eyes have never witnessed anything so captivating.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching music has become a passion of mine, so that's a given. As for learning, I find that the hardest part about traveling is simply having the guts to make it happen. I would like to know how people have acquired the courage to make the travels they have made. The routes that other lives have taken are fascinating.
