About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Experience different life perspectives, counter-cultures, and neuvo-hippies like me!
ABOUT ME
I am a hardcore simple and intentional liver involved in green living, voluntary simplicity, conservation, and community advocacy activities and enjoy connecting with other like-mined people. I am a semi-retired consultant and published writer and love reading everything on counter-culture and neuro-economics. I am also an ex-bodybuilder and professionally trained French Kickboxer with over 20 yeas of other martial arts and combat training.
I rent a small 525 sq. ft. house approximately 14 miles from downtown Cincinnati, OH and about 10 miles from the airport.
I grew up and live in Northern KY. After my enlistment in the Army, I returned to be close to my family. I've spent most of my adult life working as a Human Performance Technology (HPT) Consultant, specializing in ERP systems, but am now semi-retired at 43 and enjoying the extra free time I have by traveling as a couchsurfer, hosting, and working on another graduate degree in Integrative Studies with an emphasis in Digital Communications, Business Informatics, and Neuro-Economics.
I am also a mixed-media artist, web designer, and amateur documentary film maker. I enjoy showing people my part of KY and dispelling myths and incorrect assumptions about how Kentuckians live...er...Northern Kentuckians that is. : )
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life to engage in altrustic endeavors, hoping that each day I can add something positive to the lives of others by participating in such community building activities as organizing freegan events, subdivision yard and garage sales, co-ops, and the like. What is life if it is not lived in the service of helping others?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am active in some local CS activities, and surf and host.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Although still technically new to CSing, I have surfed with a few people so far and have become fast friends with them. Otherwise my couch surfing experiences have pretty much been limited to my days in the US Army when I would crash at a pal's off-post place to avoid having to stay in the barracks.
Mostly, however I have "land-crashed" - by setting up camp on various people's land (with permission of course) - and that has been fun. And I never stray without my backpacking gear so home is always on my back if need be.

Simple and Green Living, Recycling, Conservation, Environmentalism, Cultural Interactions, Building Community, Writing on the topics of neuro-economics, underground economy, counter-culture, alternative living styles (i.e. Mole People in NYC, Freegans, Street, etc.) and Finance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been fortunate to have met many - what I call - "counter-culture icons" to include writer and street dweller Ace Backwords in Berekly, CA, Bus Liver Bimwillow in MI, and Tom Mitts of Newport, KY - artist, dumpster diver, Christmas tree lot owner. Knowing these people has been pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to learn about other alternative living styles. I can teach hardcore simple living techniques and how to be frugal without feeling shortchanged.
