About Me

I am Max.

I love to travel, but it has only been recently that I have begun to feel like my life is an open book, far larger than I had ever realised, with more potential and excitement around every corner than I can possibly comprehend.

I am done with being in one place doing the same thing. Time to change things up a little!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The true nature of any places lies in it's people (and occasionally it's lack there of). You cannot truly experience a place without engaging with people. In my opinion there is no better way to feel at home in a new town or city than by quickly meeting people and making friends.

At the end of the day, thats what I believe makes a home: friends and family, not location.

I CANNOT offer a place to stay myself, although I know many people in the Glastonbury area and in Bristol who would happily take guests if you need a place to crash.

Interests

To be broad, people are probably the most interesting on the planet. As for hobbies, I love music. I love listening to it, playing it, writing it, dancing to it and experiencing it. I am a drummer but I have been dabbling with guitar and piano as well.

I am also a filmmaker and love making films, time-lapses and documentaries.

I love to cook (and eat!). I love to read. I love to drive (the feeling of real freedom is awesome). I love animals. I love festivals. I love a quite a bit it seems...

Music, Movies, and Books

Ummm, probably not worth getting into. I have relatively broad tastes in all 3.

Having said that, my favourite book is probably still 'News From Nowhere' by socialist poet and novelist William Morris. It's simply beautiful.

If you are really interested though, you can ask me about it when we meet!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked with a charity for 2 weeks in Sierra Leone, helping drill bore holes and fit water pumps. I also filmed the whole trip and have started to produce short films for the charity. Feel free to have a look:

This is one of the pieces of work that I am most proud of. I am pleased with the quality of the video, but also happy knowing that it has directly benefited people in need. I was very fortunate to earn this opportunity.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will try my best!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to cook, clean and generally help maintain any house I stay in. I can supply background music for any house and I will tell the occasional bad joke.

I will also have my camera with me and am happy to help with any projects or pieces people might want help with. Im happy to do whatever really...

My main purpose when travelling is to meet people and make friends. As long as I achieve that then I won't care how I spend my time.
