About Me

My name is Sergio, I'm 22 and up to now, I have lived all my life in Colombia. I'm currently studying at Jules Verne University at Amiens. This is my first time out of my native country, but I'm having fun getting to know new people and all the quirks and stuff of the local culture. Although it's never easy to change the context you live on, it's part of the adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because I would like to meet new people (making some new friends on the way), eat new (hopefully delicious) foods, get out from my confort zone and visit new places.

Interests

I love arts, not only painting and illustration, but also music and design. I'm a big fan of cinema in general, I think I can quote several movies (and also some TV shows) on a daily basis. I'm currently learning french, so I'm interested in practicing this language as often as possible. I consider myself also somewhat of a geek, I like playing video games and reading comics, but I don't tend to do it on a daily basis (or at least I try not to... hahaha).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love discovering new music, new films... I really can't say I'm an avid reader, I would say that I'm more into images that I'm into words, hahahaha, reason why I'm more into comics and graphic novels. Can't also really say that I have a favorite film or a favorite song, band or performer, I think it depends on my mood really. Right now, for example, I really love...

Films:
- La gente de la universal
- El abrazo de la serpiente (both colombian films, both spectacular, you should really check 'em out, in case you haven't)
- Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind
- Le père Noël est une ordure
- The Book of Life
- Pulp Fiction

Music:
- Wilco
- Beach House
- Belle and Sebastian
- M.I.A
- Café Tacvba (Mexican band, the best Latin American rock band in the world for me!)

(P.s: I don't consider myself that much of a dancer, but even so, I can enjoy dance music from time to time :D )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To be honest, I think the most amazing things and experiences in my life are yet to come :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I can teach you some spanish, show you some cool music and talk about films in general

Learn: As I wrote before, I'm learning french so if you could recommend some books, films or anything cultural written in that language.. "ça serait superbe!"

Share: Lots of stories to tell, lots of stuff to talk about

What I Can Share with Hosts

Ok, this part it's kinda hard... hahahaha.
I'm not going to lie here, I'm kinda shy, I'm not really a conversation starter and I may not seem like the most interesting guy to hang out... at least not at first.
But if you're willing to take the time to really get to know me, I'm sure we could have a good time.

I love talking, sharing stories (I have plenty of them since I got here, most of them are pretty funny!), having a drink (not getting drunk, but could also happen, hahaha), drawing pictures and if you want to discover foreign films or music, I'm your guy :)
