About Me

I love meeting new people and getting to know different cultures. I'm pretty active, love hiking, running and biking and being outdoors in general.

UPDATE: I will be biking to Berlin from Leuven end of July, beginning of August.

Food is also an important part of my interest, both the eating of new and exciting things but I also like preparing food as well. I'm easily convinced to try new tastes and when there is something "from the chef" on the menu I will always try that one.

I'm interested in and love discussing about politics and society. This come back in my preference for dystopian books about future/other societies and how people behave in them (1984, Animal Farm, Black Mirror but also more contemporary like The Wire).

Finally, I'm very curious. Make me watch a movie I don't know, show me a book I haven't read, let me listen to crazy music, let me taste something I haven't tried before or teach me a custom or tradition I haven't heard of before and I'll be very happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've learned that the nicest experiences come from meeting other people and viewpoints. Not only will it make you happy immediately but it will also give you a better picture on the world which is an invaluable gift.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been renovating my house for some time now. When it's finished I'd like to host people again. For now, I try to participate by helping fellow couchsurfers find a spot in Leuven. Definitely send me a text if you need help.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've biked from Brussels to Milan & Brussels to Berlin spending most nights along the with Couchsurfers which was an amazing experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music-wise, I'm very openminded and I don't have any strong preferences. I'm a big Tarantino fan but also like the movies from the Coen brothers. Nordic crime dramas are great as well.

I read almost everything from and I love book swapping places. Love the surprise of not knowing what to get.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I biked from Brussels to Milan, couchsurfing along the way. It was a great experience and I met a lot very nice people. Definitely to be repeated.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm from the Flemish part of Belgium so my mother tongue is something that resembles Dutch :). In my day to day job, I have to speak a lot of French and English so if you want to practice those I can be of assistance.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking so I would be very much willing to cook something for you. Some of dishes that my friends love to come over for: chili con carne, tortano, avocado pie (gluten and lactose free :), lasagne, pear gorgonzola bruschetta. I love a challenge so give me a fridge with leftovers and I'll try to make something you like or give me some rules (no meat, vegan, no gluten, ...) and I'll find a nice recipe to follow.
