About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am trying to decide if I should go back to school, but this time in the UK. Or maybe I'll just wander around the world for a while. Realistically I want to get better at meeting more travelers and learning from you all.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the end of my university days I signed up thinking that I would be traveling a lot more than I have so far. In fact I forgot I was signed up on here when I "rejoined" in 2019 (a few months before covid...) While I can't say I've actually used this site much to find places to stay, I have stayed with friends of friends plenty of times so I'd call myself an unofficial couchsurfer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2021 I finally got to be hosted in New York City and had a great time just wandering and getting lost.

in 2022 I have been to the UK and hiked in the Appalachian mountains of New Hampshire while staying in a hostel.

2023 I spent time in Norway and met fellow travelers in hostels. I want to go back to Bergen and hike the 7 mountains.

Interests

I'm typically more introverted, but really enjoy meeting a few people at a time. Some of my favorite things to do on holiday is to just go for walks and/or hikes. I love wandering through rural villages or giant cities.

Typically I go to sleep earlier and wake up earlier. At least you won't have to wait up really late for me :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'll read pretty much anything. Recently just started reading books by Octavia Butler. I generally try to keep a good balance of fiction and non-fiction. My favorite movies are The Dark Knight and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I also try to stay balanced between serious and not serious. I'm honestly not a big music person, but I'd love to hear about what you listen to!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In college I intentionally wandered around Prauge until I walked away from the area on the map. It was nice getting out of the touristy area. Also impulsively driving out to the Rocky Mountains from St. Louis.

Teach, Learn, Share

It would be great to just share stories about life. Part of traveling and meeting people is learning about each other, so lets just share stories and learn from each other.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to help with any chores around the home, especially if I stay for more than a few days. I'll want to cook at least one meal for us to share. I'll also try to bring a small and inexpensive gift from my hometown. Let me know if there is anything in particular you would like. I will TRY to bring it with me.
