About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My dream is to travel the world, starting in Nov 2012(if the world doesn't end by then:P)

ABOUT ME

I have immense interest in Yoga, spiritualism, world affairs, human rights, travelling, countrysides, poverty , kids , extreme activities, beach life, ghosts, mysteries and weird food.

I'm Durai, 26 year old guy from Malaysia, and my dream is to backpack around the world:) I'm extremely flexible and my adaptability rate is very high, and I go along easy with anyone. I'm also a certified Yoga Instructor.

I travel on a budget, and the reason I'm here is to find tons of friends where I can stay and exchange my stories with them, when I start the biggest journey of my life, around Asia on Dec 6 2012.

I speak 3 languages;English, Malay, and Tamil. I love trying out different foods(I can digest almost anything), drinking different beers and trying almost anything that comes on the way.

I'm absolutely practical, and I can adapt very well with anything. I never complain about anything in my life, for whatever problem there is in your life, there is always someone who's more unfortunate than you out there.

I have my own charity organization , and a personal blog.

About my backpacking experience,

I've slept in streets, bus stops, temples during my backpacking , eaten some very exotic foods in various countries and made tons of friends, YET I feel I'm just starting! Can't wait for more!

If I happen to 'surf' your place, don't worry about taking me in, we'll definitely have plenty to talk about:)

PHILOSOPHY

I have but one simply policy, as long as you induce no harm on others, it's perfectly fine to do anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm looking forward to get immersed in as much country/culture/people when I start travelling around the world end of 2012, so I was googling the best way to do it, and here I am:)

Interests

I have immense interest in Yoga, spiritualism, world affairs, human rights, travelling, countrysides, poverty , kids , extreme activities and beach life.

I have strange addiction to tea and exorcism. Both do not inter relate to each other, but I have plenty of experience in terms of the latter:)

I have a charity org back in Malaysia, helping unfortunate poor kids living in estates through the donation given from my blog readers.

I also love writing controversial social issues, to spark awareness among people.

I blog in www.ragedindian.com and my charity org website is www.saifund.org

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled a few countries so far but it's not really sights or views that amazed or touched my heart.(Although I agree Barcelona was the highest point of my party life)

My heart goes to poor kids, and while backpacking alone in Goa, India, two cute little girls came begging to me. It's a common sight in India, and although I don't give out frequently , I felt sorry and handed Rp 50.

Both the kids immediately grabbed the money, went to a nearby stall , bought an egg bread, and shared it with each other-one feeding the other. That was the amazing thing I've done, and I've seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Yoga, Meditation, Spirituality(World Religion) , everything that you may need to about culture here in Malaysia, so on and so forth.

If you love food, I'll bring you to taste everything that is local here, as well as some 'exotic' foods if you so prefer it. :) Beer lovers or if you want to taste some local 'alcohol' drinks, I'll bring you around to taste it up.

Since my family is highly inclined towards spirituality, I can share with you a lot of customs/rituals about Hindus that we perform daily. Alternatively, I can also bring you to exotic temples, for you to see extreme rituals being done. This will definitely be an eye opening experience.

Also, if you travel during January, I may as well be able to bring you to Thaipusam and tell you all about it and how one of the worlds most amazing religious festival is celebrated.
