I am a father of two teenage boys and a nine year-old daughter. I also have a great canine friend named Copper who is an eleven year old golden doodle.

I have always found the trips have have taken to enrich my perspective on the world. I have traveled to Ecuador, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Iran, the United States and many countries in Europe. I have stayed in hostels on many of these trips have wonderful memories of people I have met along the way.

I started playing hockey and skiing many years ago because I am not a fan of winter and it helps to pass the cold months faster. I still enjoy these activities. In the summer, I enjoy riding my motorcycles and back-country camping.

While traveling in Argentina, I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to stay in Ushuaia. A bucket list item for me is to ride back there on a motorcycle one day.

I plan to retire and live on a sailboat some day.

I am interested in meeting people from around the world. While I love to travel and look forward to staying with future friends, I also am excited about meeting new people who wish to visit my city and hosting them.

I'm a big fan of Bruce Springsteen and have had phases over the years of listening to U2, the Doors, Bob Seger, Pearl Jam, and the Tragically Hip; however, through my kids I have gotten an appreciation of everything from Lady Gaga to the Andrews Sisters. My friends have opened my eyes to great bands such as the Good Lovelies, Bobby Bazini, the BROS and so many more. I am happy listening to almost anything.

While I love so many movies, there are a few that are in a class of their own (IMHO): The Shawshank Redemption, Big Fish, Apocalypse Now, Pulp Fiction.

I never find time to read enough and when I do, I usually read non-fiction. The fiction books that I have thoroughly enjoyed are To Kill a Mockingbird, The Grapes of Wrath, Brave New World and, of course, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

My family and I traveled in Uruguay and Argentina for 6 weeks and had such an amazing time. We stayed at a ranch in Uruguay. We WWOOFed on an organic farm in a corner of the amazon. We visited great places such as Puerto Madryn and Ushuaia. One amazing memory from this trip was sitting beside my 6 year-old son on a boat ride to the "Devil's Throat" at Iguazu Falls - warning him that "the devil is going to get you" and both of us laughing hysterically. Another is staring into a cloudless night on the beach in Aguas Dulces, Uruguay and seeing the Milky Way so clearly.

I love to learn and love to teach. I went back to University when I was 40 years old and got a teaching degree. I am happy to share what I know; however, I know that there is so much to learn.
