Music, Movies, and Books

Leonard Cohen

One by one the guests arrive
The guests are coming through
The open-hearted many
The broken-hearted few

And those who dance begin to dance
And those who weep begin
Welcome, welcome, cries a voice
Let all my guests come in

(The Guests, Leonard Cohen)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

***far way back in time, when i was a student, a friend of mine and myself, pretty good students both of us, went partying after collecting our scholarships *** my friend had a dream at that time to buy an expensive watch for himself ... so i gave him my part to be able to buy that watch *** after that ... we went in the train station (it was time for me to return home) *** while waiting there, there's this beggar who comes and asks "what time is it?" *** we answer politely, of course, and the beggar walks away *** after two minutes the same beggar comes again and asks the same question "what time is it?" *** my friend looks again at his new watch and answers *** one minutes after the beggar comes again with the same question *** at that time, we showed him the big watch present in every train station and told him to look there and not to ask people every minute *** soon after that, my friend realized that his watch is not anymore on his hand *** we thought that only the beggar could have done something and took it ... so we went searching for him *** we got out from the train station, we saw at some distance the beggar who was trying to get away *** we ran after him, we caught it after a while and asked him to give us back the watch *** he started to deny, of course *** when my friend was pretty ready to start being more rude, u know what i mean, the beggar said to us that he might be able to give us back the watch if we buy for him two apple pies and a beer *** at that moment my friend got really angry but i calmed him down, saying that it might be his only chance to get back the expensive watch back *** so we bought the two apple pies and the beer and we sat down at a table *** the beggar ate the first pie and then drink the beer *** after that ... he wide opened the second pie ... and guess what was inside??? ***
i bet u didn't guess that there was only apples***
