1 year backpacking trip through Europe!

We left Canada in February 2015 to start traveling across Europe for 1 year. We are a fun couple, enjoy new things, experiencing different cultures, and having fun!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have loved surfing during our travels. The best way to get to know a different place is through the locals, and we think it has been awesome to meet up for a drink or crash on a couch as we make our way through Europe.

We have also participated in several CS events and had an awesome time!!

we currently are not accepting couch surfers until we return from our trip in 2016 however are looking forward to giving back to the CS community!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have so far stayed with some amazing people, a great couple in Iceland who showed us the Icelandic way of Bolludagur :-)

We have had great cooks, and guices, people who could tell us much more than travelwiki but also show us as well. It is awesome.

Interests

We love learning new things about cultures especially eating and drinking customs, meeting new people, having new experiences. We like history and going to museums, but also doing non touristy things in each place as well.

We like to cook, watch movies and play sports (seamus). In the summer we are camping or going to BBQ's or having a fire in the backyard almost every weekend!

We enjoy learning small bits of each language while we are in each country (although most are unfortunately quickly forgotten )

We like going to different music shows and concerts, trying new restaurants, we enjoy the opera and seeing plays at home, and are planning on creating a great garden when we return to Canada with ideas we have gotten on our adventures!

We walked the Great Wall of China. What an amazing experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

We can practise English with you, and teach you about Canada. Not sure what a traditional canadian meal would be, but if you have maple syrup, we can teach you how to incorporate it in almost anything!!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are laid back and generally just want to absorb the culture and learn new things about each city we visit, like history, eating amd drinking customs, musoc, etc. We do not want just a couch to sleep on, but would love the host to teach us new things about each place we stay, and perhaps show us how to cook an authentic meal from that region (we also can cook for the host!)
