About Me

Wanderlust South African exploring the world, excited to learn new things and discover more about the earth we inhabit and the spirituality of humans.

Please note that, as I am new to the community and currently travelling, I am unable to host at present.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I left my 8-5 corporate job in search of a life better lived, rather than the plodding through time behind a computer screen 9 hours each day. I'm travelling with my girlfriend and in terms of accommodation we would rather meet locals and share in stories of our countries than share a cushy hotel with a bunch of people who know how to be a tourist (as opposed to a traveller - ask me the difference!).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love a variety of music genres. I grew up playing the drums and my learnings there gave me an appreciation for music as an art form. Big fan of movies, however would rather have an intellectual conversation than stare at a screen (yes, there are times that I want/need that #hungover). I've recently started reading again (Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis; the lead singer of Red Hot Chili Peppers) and am thoroughly enjoying it. I am also researching the spirituality of Chakras and the effects that meditation and "enlightenment" have on the human physiology and psychology.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I trained for 9 months and ran "the ultimate human race" called the Comrades Marathon. The race is a one day event, spanning 89km - which I completed in 11 hours 51 minutes (9 minutes shy of the cut-off time of 12 hours).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach drums as I have been playing for 16 years. I am learning guitar - and can teach beginners. I have an interesting theory on the universe and how we are all connected - let's chat!

Countries I’ve Visited
