About Me

I'm an relaxed person whose mind is open to ideas and is eager for adventure. When I am in holiday mode (such as when couchsurfing) I am usually in the mood to talk in the kitchen for lengthy periods of time, regardless of whether the discussion is purposeful or philosophical. I also drink lots of tea, and like eating out or cooking.

I really enjoy the outdoors where the air is fresh because it makes me humbled. So mountains, parks and botanical gardens are some of my favourite places to be.

I studied for nearly 6 years in Perth, Western Australia as an engineer, but still keen to learn more, about the world and humans.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started couchsurfing in 2014 whilst on a 5 month exchange doing my thesis, to meet new people and add a face to a place, particularly if it's the first time I've been there.

Today, I travel and couchsurf for the same reasons, to learn about a city in a more intimate way through the experiences of those that live there. I also want to provide good company, and tell and hear entertaining stories, rather than just use all your hot water (don't worry, I won't).

Interests

I try as many new things as possible because life's too short not to!
Longboarding around the city, bush walking in the mountains, dancing in the disco, and everything in between.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books
Greig Beck: The First Bird
Anthony Doerr: All the light we cannot see
Jim Butcher: The Aeronaut's Windlass

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding trains during autumn through the alps from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany to South Tyrol, Italy

Dancing on tables at the Canstatter Wasen in Stuttgart and not falling off- that was an amazing night!

Being at the Big Dish in Australia and finding out about the universe.
